Alex Del Piero - Life
Alessandro Del Piero (173 cm 73 kg) was born on November, 9th, 1974 in Conegliano Veneto (Treviso) and after playing in amateur football team San Vendemiano he went to Padua, where he made his debut in a professional football team. From there, together with Angelo Di Livio, arrived to Juventusin 1993, when he was selected in the National Soccer Team.
Juventus captain, in his long career, won all the most prestigious titles for both Clubs and National Teams, but did not hesitate to stay in Serie B in 2006 (following the events of Calciopoli) and contributed with his goals to Juventus come back to the Serie A, winning for two consecutive years the top scorer ranking.
Del Piero - Tecnical skills
Del Piero is one of the best strikers ever. In spite of several serious injuries, he has always managed to recover and especially to defend himself against very fierce criticism that arrived every time he had to face a new accident.
Del Piero has got an excellent individual technique and a good physical structure, the prototype of the modern attacker. He scores easily with both feet and on headers, he prefers to play as second striker but he is also good as inside forward and even as midfield player: sometimes, in tough matches where playmaking is difficult, he helps his team playing as playmaker.
He's a true sniper-kicks and is famous for his spin shot on free kicks: the ball seems to head on a direction and then suddenly changes its trajectory in front of the goalkeeper. In Italy the typical "Del Piero goal" is famous for the extraordinary sequence of goals scored in 1996 by Juventus Captain: a spin-shot from the top left of the penalty area of effect, which beats the goalkeeper at the far post.
